iPad Numbers

Numbers

The most innovative spreadsheet app ever designed for a mobile device.

It’s easy to be good with Numbers.

Who knew making spreadsheets could feel so natural? Numbers is the most powerful spreadsheet app designed to work with iPad and Multi-Touch technology. With a few taps, you can create tables and charts, add photos and graphics, and enter and edit data. Numbers isn’t just a spreadsheet application — it’s a flexible canvas. Which means you can add multiple tables and charts anywhere on a sheet and move them wherever you like.
Powerful iWork apps, completely reworked for iPad. Download Numbers from the App Store for just $9.99. Visit the App Store

Tables with a tap.

Drag your finger on a table to add, delete, or move columns and rows. With a tap, enter and edit data. Use the full-screen summary view to see your data by the sum, min, max, and count for your selection. Then, with just a swipe, you can see a chart of how it all adds up.

Enter data on the go.

Say you’re keeping track of your team’s practice on the field, tracking your gas mileage on the road, or taking attendance in a classroom. Enter your data on a form in Numbers. Forms are a quick and easy way to gather or edit data. When you link a table to a form, Numbers automatically updates each row as you enter information.

Off-the-charts charts.

Transform your data into compelling bar, line, area, or pie charts. Apply Apple-designed styles to your charts so they match your template. Just tap the chart, tap the Info button, then tap again to choose a style. You can even add data to a chart from multiple sheets in your spreadsheet with a few taps. Since Numbers is built on a flexible canvas, drag to move the chart wherever you want. And copy and paste your charts into Keynote or Pages on your iPad.

Even the keyboard is smart.

The intelligent keyboard helps you enter data and create formulas. You’ll see the keyboard you need for the data you’re entering, whether it’s digits, date and time, duration, text, or formulas. Numbers has a full calculation engine, more than 250 functions, and clear and concise help for each of them built in. Learn more about the 250+ functions

Multiple file formats welcome.

With Numbers on iPad, you can open Numbers and Microsoft Excel files. And it works the other way around, too. The spreadsheets you create in Numbers on your iPad can be sent as Numbers files, Excel files, or PDF documents. That way, whether you use a Mac or PC, you always have the flexibility to view and edit the spreadsheets you need right from your iPad.

Easy file sharing.

Numbers makes it easy to send and receive spreadsheets from your iPad — whether they’re Numbers or Microsoft Excel files. So you can share documents with anyone using a Mac or PC. Send and receive files via email. Copy files to and from your MobileMe iDisk or any standard WebDAV server. Transfer files between your iPad and computer through iTunes. Or upload your spreadsheets to iWork.com public beta so friends and colleagues can see and download your work.

A touch of style.

Every Numbers spreadsheet starts out stunning, thanks to Apple-designed templates. Choose from 16 templates for home, work, and school, then make it your own.

iPad Pages

Pages

The most beautiful word processor ever designed for a mobile device.

A touch of brilliance for your writing.

Pages for iPad combines robust writing and advanced layout tools with the simplicity of Multi-Touch. So you can create all kinds of documents — including newsletters, reports, brochures, and flyers — using just your fingers. Text is crisp, clear, and very readable on the large, bright iPad screen. And the handy page navigator lets you scroll through your document in thumbnails, so you can quickly jump to any page you want.

The keyboard that helps you write.

When you rotate iPad, Pages shows you a widescreen view of your document. Your words fill the display so you can concentrate on your work. And up pops the large onscreen keyboard that actually helps you write. The keyboard tracks what you type, so it can suggest words, correct spelling, and insert punctuation for you automatically. When you need to write more, use the optional iPad Keyboard Dock or a wireless keyboard with Bluetooth technology.

Easy layout tools.

With a few taps on the iPad Multi-Touch display, you can refine your page design. Use the powerful layout tools to add and resize images, format text, and create bulleted or numbered lists. Pages on iPad makes even the most advanced layouts easy. Move a graphic around with your finger, drag to resize a photo, or twist to rotate a shape, and the text automatically wraps around the object. With a few taps, you can create columns, set margins and tabs, and add headers and footers.

Photos, charts, tables, and more. Only a tap away.

Tap and drag. That’s all you need to know to wow your audience even more. Tap to open the media browser and add photos and movies from your library. Or add shapes, tables, charts, or text. You can even paste content copied from other iWork apps, Safari, or Mail on your iPad. Tap an object with your finger and drag a corner to resize it, twist to rotate it, or drag it to a new location. Keynote is a flexible canvas — you can tap and drag anything anywhere you want on the slide.

Add amazing animations and effects.

With just a few taps, you can make your presentation dazzle with cinema-quality transitions, animations, and effects. Charts and graphs look more compelling as they animate on or off a slide. Keynote previews your animations and transitions on the slide as you add them.

Connect with the crowd.

Present to a small group right on your iPad. With your presentation on its high-resolution display, you’ll be a tough act to follow. Tap to play or swipe to move forward or back through slides. iPad iBooks

Two sides to the story.

Download the iBooks app free from the App Store. More than a great ebook reader, it’s also an amazing place to browse and shop for books day or night. Tap the iBooks icon and your bookshelf appears. Tap the Store button and the bookshelf flips around like a secret passageway to reveal the iBookstore, where you can browse tens of thousands of books — many of them free. Browse by title, author, or genre. View what’s featured on the iBookstore, the New York Times best-seller lists, and more. When you find a book you like, tap it to see more details, peruse reviews, even read a sample. Download the book and it appears on your bookshelf, ready to read. Books you download will also be available for your iPhone and iPod touch, so you’ll never be without your favorite reads.

iBooks

Get the free iBooks app and start reading books on your iPad today.

Grow your library.

You’ll find tens of thousands of titles on the iBookstore, and more arrive every day. The iBooks app uses the ePub format — the most popular open book format in the world. Its universal structure makes it easy for publishers to create iBooks versions of your favorite reads. And you can find free ePub titles using your Mac or PC and sync them to the iBooks app on your iPad with iTunes.

All your PDFs. Right where you want them.

The iBooks app now works with your PDF documents — user guides, business proposals, project plans, and more. You add PDFs to iBooks in two ways: select a PDF from an email message on your iPad and open it in the iBooks app, where it appears on your bookshelf. Or add a PDF to your iTunes library on your Mac or PC and sync it to your iPad. In iBooks, you can tap a button to switch between viewing your iBooks titles and PDFs. Tap a PDF to read it and it fills the screen just like an ebook. You can swipe through pages, add bookmarks, or zoom in for a closer look.

It’s a great read.

Reading on iPad is just like reading a book. You hold your iPad like a book. You flip the pages like a book. And you do it all with your hands — just like a book. The high-resolution, LED-backlit screen displays each page beautifully. Turn iPad to the portrait orientation to view a single page. Or view two pages at once by rotating it to landscape. Move forward or backward by tapping the right or left side of the screen. Or turn a page slowly by dragging from right to left. Jump to a different section of the book entirely by visiting the table of contents and selecting a chapter. Touch and hold any word to look it up in the built-in dictionary or Wikipedia, or to search for it throughout the book and on the web. Even with all these extras, reading is so natural on iPad, the technology seems to disappear.

The plot thickens.

iBooks now features Enhanced Books — where words, pictures, audio, and video come together on a single page. Packed with rich and relevant digital content, Enhanced Books expand the experience of reading a book. Listen to an author read a favorite passage, watch supplementary video, or flick through a library of photos or unpublished excerpts. Whether you’re looking for depth or a diversion, a little bit of context or a lot more clarity — Enhanced Books get you closer to the inside story.

Personalize your reading experience.

Unlike a paper book — or ebooks on other devices — you can tailor iBooks to suit the way you read. Turn iPad to the portrait orientation to view a single page. Or view two pages at once by rotating it to landscape. Change the text size or even the font. Touch and hold any word to look it up in the built-in dictionary or Wikipedia, or to search for it throughout the book and on the web. iBooks also works with VoiceOver, the screen reader in iPad, so it can read you the contents of any page. Yet even with all these extras, reading is so natural on iPad, the technology seems to disappear.

Always find your place.

With iBooks, you can jump to any chapter right from the table of contents. If you read something especially interesting or inspiring, use the Bookmarking feature to highlight the text and make notes — perfect for students. And when you take a break from reading, iBooks automatically saves your place across all your devices. So you can start reading a book on your iPad and pick up where you left off on your iPhone or iPod touch, without having to plug into a computer.
